Letter from the UPPSA President
Welcome to the official website for the Urban Planning and Policy Student Association (UPPSA)! This organization is composed of first and second year students dedicated to serving the diverse community of prospective urban planners. This year will be the strangest CUPPA students have faced to date. The COVID-19 pandemic may limit our in-person interactions, but the UPPSA board is committed to facilitating both social and professional development events virtually to keep students engaged beyond the classroom.
We also work in close partnership with the other urban planning student organizations: LPODER (Latino Planning Organization for Development, Education, and Regeneration), SBUP (Society for Black Urban Planners), WPPA (Women in Planning and Public Affairs), and USSA (Urban Studies Student Association). We also collaborate closely with the public administration branch of CUPPA via PASA (Public Administration Student Association for MPA students).
Our biggest event of the year is the Urban Innovation Symposium, which will likely be held sometime in January 2021. It is an entirely student-run event that has garnered a stellar reputation in the city and surrounding region for hosting stimulating conversations and seamlessly bringing together academics, planning professionals, and civic leaders. The pandemic will test our adaptability as we strive for a relevant, informative, and engaging symposium.

Looking forward to seeing you all this year!
Erin, UPPSA President 2020-2021
