Letter from the UPPSA President
Welcome to the official website for the Urban Planning and Policy Student Association (UPPSA)! This organization is composed of first- and second-year graduate students dedicated to serving the diverse community of prospective urban planners. We look forward to you joining us during our many in-person events throughout the 2021-2022 academic year. The UPPSA board remains committed to facilitating both social and professional development events to keep students engaged beyond the classroom.
We also work in close partnership with the other urban planning student organizations: LPODER (Latino Planning Organization for Development, Education, and Regeneration), SBUP (Society for Black Urban Planners), WPPA (Women in Planning and Public Affairs), and FUSS (Fellowship of Urban Studies Students). We also collaborate closely with the public administration branch of CUPPA via PASA (Public Administration Student Association for MPA students).
Our biggest event of the year is the Urban Innovation Symposium, which will likely be held sometime in January 2022. It is an entirely student-run event that has garnered a stellar reputation in the city and the surrounding region for hosting stimulating conversations and seamlessly bringing together academics, planning professionals, and civic leaders. The pandemic will test our adaptability as we strive for a relevant, informative, and engaging symposium.
You can learn more about the 2021-2022 UPPSA board here. Feel free to reach out to us through email, and stay up to date on future events and opportunities through our Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Looking forward to seeing you all this year!
Adekemi, UPPSA President 2021-2022
